It is a pretty material with a genuine history as a craft glass, but it is a factory product, not a stone that grew in the ground. Selling it as natural sunstone is a bait and switch, whether the seller realizes it or not.
The good news is that goldstone is easy to spot once you know the tell, which is uniformity. Goldstone is too perfect. The copper flecks are all about the same size and shape, spread in a dense, even, all-over glitter like a fine sparkly grid, with no quiet spots. Real sunstone is messier in the best way.
